Events from Jan 2012 to April 2012:
SPIC MACAY ( Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture Amongst Youth ) is planning events from the last week of Jan 2012 till April 2012 in schools and colleges all over Tamilnadu and Puducherry. Classical Music concerts, classical dance performances, Folk performances, craft workshops, classical cinema, lectures and heritage walks are planned.

Weekly Meeting in Chennai :
SPICMACAY Chennai meets every saturday from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at IIT Madras.
SPICMACAY's "Gurukul Anubhav" scholarships :
This is an initiatve to enable students to have a glimpse in to the age old Guru Shishya parampara. It is an attempt to expose school and college students to a way
of life with eminent Gurus who have dedicated their lives in the pursuit of their work with single minded devotion. Selected students get an apportunity to stay with a Guru for a month during their summer vacation ( May/June/July ) for an inspiring and fulfilling experience.
The scheme for 2012 will be announces shortly and the names of the Gurus from the field of Classical music ( Both Hindustani and carnatic music traditions ), classical dance, folk, theatre, painting, social work and yoga.
Interviews will be held in the month of Feb 2012 and ideal candidates will be selected.

SPICMACAY's National Convention 2012: NIT Surathkal Campus - Mangalore
SPICMACAY's Annual National Convention is at NIT - Surathkal from the 28th May to 3rd June 2012.
